Home the Way has been created off the back of real, hands-on experience, owning operating and transforming residential properties into high-performing short-term rentals.
Our Story
Home the Way was founded by Alex Stevanovski and Dean van der Horn, after experiencing firsthand how complex Airbnb and short-stay hosting in Perth really is:
not just in theory, but in practice.

We came into property with strong backgrounds in operations, compliance, structured environments and commercial decision-making.
However, what truly shaped Home the Way was learning the hard parts the long way - navigating council rules, strata by-laws, registration requirements, neighbour sensitivities, and the quiet risks that many hosts don't realise exist until something goes wrong.

Along the way, we saw how often short-stay performance breaks down, not because the property isn't a good fit, but because the foundations aren't right. Poor setup creates stress, inconsistent guest experience, and unnecessary risk for owners. Great reviews, strong occupancy and peace of mind all come from the same place: thoughtful design, clear systems, proactive guest communication, and compliance done properly from day one.

With experience across design, customer service, hospitality, account management, compliance, sales and analytics, we built Home the Way to bridge the gap between owning a property and running it well. We don't believe in shortcuts or "one size fits all" setups - we believe in creating environments that reduce risk, protect the asset, and allow both guests and owners to feel confident.
